ABOUT FUNCTIONAL FITNESS
Since 2001 Functional Fitness has been working to help people achieve their goals and to succeed in areas they once thought impossible: regaining strength and pain-free function after car accidents; amazing weight-loss success stories; professional athletes looking to improve their performance that extra little bit; body builders striving for "aesthetic balance"; and everything in between.
We develop health and physical conditioning through movement - practical movement which is able to be utilized for real-life purposes, in real-life endeavours by real-life people.
We focus on:
1/ developing the body for use in practical, every day situations – walking, bending, climbing, lifting, running, jumping, twisting and turning;
2/ instilling the habit of movement into our daily routine;
3/ making these movements, stronger, better and more efficient.
Our objective is genuine health and wellbeing as a result of better, more comfortable, more frequent movement in our lives - not just the mirage of "fitness" interspersed at specific intervals. Results are founded on basic ideas and training principles combined with research, hands-on practice, creativity, and passion.
Functional Fitness is not a mainstream gym facility, does not have a "stereotypic 'gym-like'" mentality nor does it use traditional "gym methodology" to create the physical challenge necessary for change. It plays a supporting role to the abilities and attitude of those who walk through its doors with the determination to improve themselves, their lives and their ability to perform - regardless of the stage on which they do so!
